TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES

Transformation of raw material and production of the casting

Thanks to the interdisciplinary expertise of our Group, we design custom tools both for the construction of our products and for the development of machinery and equipment used to manufacture them. In particular, we specialize in the creation of molds and hydraulic clamping equipment for CNC machines, transfer machines, and lathes. In addition to the main techniques for producing castings through high-pressure die casting, sand casting, gravity casting, and low-pressure casting, we also utilize advanced processes such as investment casting, lost-wax casting, and sintering, ensuring optimal solutions for every production need.

INGOT SUPPLY

In the thermo-hydraulic sector, TECNOFOR directly deals with the procurement of metal ingots to ensure the production of components such as valves, fittings and manifolds. This management ensures high-quality, corrosion-resistant alloys suitable for the most demanding environments. Direct purchasing eliminates intermediate steps, improving process efficiency and offering greater production flexibility, also to respond to customized market demands. Subsequent mechanical processing takes place on TRANSFER and CNC machines

High pressure die casting is a technology used in the thermo-hydraulic sector to produce high-precision metal components, such as fittings, valves and taps. The process involves injecting molten metal (usually aluminum, brass, or zinc alloys) into a steel mold, under high pressure, to obtain parts with very precise dimensional tolerances and smooth surfaces. This is essential to ensure perfect fitting in hydraulic systems and resistance to pressure and corrosive agents. In the thermo-hydraulic sector, die-casting is ideal for the mass production of light but resistant parts, such as manifolds and valves, thanks to the possibility of reducing production costs and obtaining components with excellent finishes. Materials such as aluminum, brass, and zinc are chosen for their specific properties, such as corrosion resistance and durability. The ability to produce parts with complex shapes directly in the casting reduces the need for additional machining, improving process efficiency and business competitiveness.

Low-pressure casting is a process used in the plumbing industry to produce high-quality metal components, such as valves, fittings, and manifolds. In this process, molten metal is injected at low pressure, ensuring uniform mold filling and reducing defects such as air gaps or inclusions. Materials such as aluminum, brass, and zinc alloys are chosen for their corrosion resistance and durability. This method offers greater dimensional accuracy and good material uniformity, making it ideal for high-reliability, tight-tolerance parts needed for hydraulic and thermohydraulic systems.

Sand casting is a process used in the thermo-hydraulic sector to produce metal components such as valves, fittings and manifolds, in particular for small and medium-sized productions. In this method, a model made of easily machined material (usually wax or metal) is covered with sand bonded with a binder, creating a negative mold. The molten metal is then poured into the mold, and once solidified, the piece is extracted. Sand casting is particularly suitable for the production of complex components with irregular shapes. While the process may result in a less smooth surface finish than other methods, it is beneficial because of its flexibility, the ability to produce parts of different sizes, and the ability to use alloys such as aluminum and brass.

Shell casting is a process used in the thermo-hydraulic industry to produce high-precision metal components, such as valves, fittings, and manifolds. In this method, molten metal is injected into a permanent steel mold, known as a shell, which results in parts with smooth surfaces and very precise dimensions. Shell casting is particularly suitable for the production of parts made of aluminum, brass, and steel alloys, due to its ability to achieve high quality and tight tolerances. This process offers higher repeatability than other methods, making it ideal for mass production. It is also advantageous for the speed of production and the reliability of the components, which are strong and durable for thermohydraulic applications.

BAR SUPPLY

For thermo-hydraulics, TECNOFOR selects metal bars directly from suppliers, choosing materials that guarantee precision and durability, ideal for the production of fittings, taps and other critical components. This approach optimizes machinability and reduces costs, offering reliable and high-performance products. Direct management also allows you to quickly adapt to customer needs, while maintaining high quality standards. The consequent mechanical processing phase takes place on TRANSFER and CNC machines if subsequent to stamping, on a lathe if the bar is used directly as supplied

Hot forging is a process used in the thermo-hydraulic sector for the production of metal components, such as valves, fittings and manifolds, which require high strength and durability. In this method, the metal is heated to high temperatures until it becomes plastic, after which it is shaped into a mold by applying pressure. Hot forging results in parts with a homogeneous internal structure and superior mechanical properties, which are particularly useful in applications that require resistance to pressure and corrosion. This process is ideal for metals such as steel and aluminum, and offers advantages in terms of solidity and uniformity of the material, making it suitable for high-volume production and for components that require high mechanical strength.
